For more than a decade the centre has been identified as a high quality information resource by various independent agencies and institutions. These include Intute, which helps to provide objective access to the very best web resources for education and research. All material and web sites included within the Intute database are evaluated and selected by a network of subject specialists. Intute is a consortium of seven UK based universities working with various global expert partners, whom evaluate web resources and provide a structured approach to help people find and use them.

The centre is non commercial and supports academics, practitioners, managers and post graduate research students interested in corporate marketing, branding and identity. Access to the resources are open to all visitors. Professor Balmer is the chairman of the International Corporate Identity Group (ICIG), launched at the House of Commons in London in 1995, and has since produced many papers and co-edited at least 12 special editions of journals including: European Journal of Marketing (1997, 2001, 2003, 2006); International Journal of Bank Marketing (1999); Journal of Corporate Communications (1999); International Studies of Management and Organizations (2003, 2006), British Journal of Management (2007) and the Journal of Business Ethics (2006/7).

Dr. Powell has published a number of journal papers/book chapters and edited 5 special journal editions including: Corporate Communications: An International Journal (2007) and Journal of Brand Management (2007). He is currently co-editing a future edition of the European Journal of Marketing (with Professor Balmer) entitled 'Identity Perspectives on Corporate and Organisational Marketing' and a special edition of the Journal of Business Ethics with Professor Balmer and Stephen Greyser (Harvard Business School) entitled 'Ethical Corporate Marketing'.
